The escalation of tension between Russia and Ukraine highlights the importance of having a strong military deployment. We show you the countries with the most outstanding armies on the planet.
The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has the world in tension these days. While NATO announced that its allies are putting their forces on "alert status" and sending additional warships and warplanes to eastern Europe to reinforce the eastern flank, Moscow is piling up Russian troops on the Ukraine border. This situation once again highlights the importance of having large-scale military resources, both in terms of equipment and personnel.
The company GlobalFirepower (GFP) has analyzed 140 military powers providing a unique analytical visualization of that data. This classification analyzes the potential war capacity of each nation on land, sea, and air, in combat by conventional means. The results incorporate values related to labor, equipment, natural resources, finances, logistics capacity, and geography, represented by more than 50 individual factors. These rankings provide an interesting insight into an increasingly volatile global landscape where the emergence of one or more wars seems almost inevitable.
This analysis formula allows smaller and more technologically advanced countries to compete with larger and less developed nations. In this sense, special modifiers are applied, in the form of bonuses and penalties, to further refine the annual list, comparing trends year after year to see its evolution.
Starting from a perfect rating set at 0 points --which is realistically unattainable within the scope of the current GFP formula--, the lower the value on the index, the more powerful a nation's theoretical combat capability, having considered only conventional means since nuclear capacity is not included in this analysis.
