Those related to data analysis, Big Data, artificial intelligence, information security, and digital transformation stand out.
With the proliferation of new technologies, many jobs will cease to exist, replaced by machines and automated processes that will sideline the most repetitive jobs. But in the same way, they will grow to a great extent and new jobs will be created that evolve at the pace of computerized systems.
Emerging professions will grow from the current 7.8% to 13.5% in 2025, according to the report 'The future of jobs 2020', published by the World Economic Forum (WEF). The study estimates that within four years, 85 million jobs that require direct human intervention may be displaced by machines. Likewise, it is possible that 97 million new jobs will emerge that are better adapted to the new environment between humans, robots, and algorithms.
Within these new trends there will be important changes in skills, requiring new skills such as critical thinking, analysis and problem solving, or self-management skills such as active learning, resilience, stress tolerance, and flexibility.
It is estimated that around 40% of workers will require around six months of training for new jobs, according to data from the analysis of the 15 industries and 26 economies studied by the report.
Work processes need to adapt to new technologies and must be prepared to digitize systems, just as a substantial expansion of teleworking is required. The global pandemic caused by covid-19 has accelerated these processes.
The companies consulted in this study expect to internally redeploy almost 50% of the workers displaced by automation and technological increase, trying to avoid massive dismissal processes and save money thanks to automation.
The public sector will have great importance in the new labor landscape. It will need to create incentives for investments in tomorrow's markets and jobs, provide stronger safety nets for displaced employees amid job transitions, and aggressively address improvements to education and training systems.
Among the jobs that will grow considerably in 2025 are those related to data analysis, Big Data, artificial intelligence, information security, and digital transformation. Here we show you the eight jobs that will grow the most in the future.
